Nationally acclaimed mother and daughter team. Performers extraordinaire, middle eastern dance
teachers ,seminar sponsers ,choreographers and the directors of the KISMET DANCERS OF MIAMI ,
voted Dance Troupe of the Year (1997) and (1998) by Zaghareet! Magazine, and most recently voted
champions of the 2002 Troupe Oasis competition. Kahreen and Kira's many years of success producing popular seminars and elaborate Las Vegas
style shows have enabled the mother and daughter duet to bring the top Middle Eastern artists
to South Florida. In February 2000, Kahreen and Kira were awarded with a Lifetime Achievement Award by Tonya, Atlantis & MECDA
in recognition for their many accomplishments and the establishment of high standards and quality in this dance form.
Second place winner in the Oasis 2003 Belly Dancer of the Year Championship, Kahreen's on-going belly dance classes have been taught in Miami Shores
for the past 23 years. In October 2003, Kahreen & Kira were also awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by Zaghareet Magazine for their many years of
accomplishements in this field.
Classes are taught at the Miami Shores Community Center on Wednesday nights from 7:00-8:15 PM,
Saturdays from 10:30-11:45 AM and Thursdays advanced classes from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
Students are taught various choreographies as well as make-up , costuming, staging and
performing. The Wednesday evening and Saturday morning classes at the Miami Shores Recreation Center offer the student the chance to study under two different instructors! Kahreen and Kira, both teach during every one of these classes - giving the student the opportunity to experience two different styles. This is a special collaborative event for both teachers, and no other location offers two teachers during one class!
In addition to these quality classes, Kira teaches weekly private classes at Little Theatre School, weekly classes on Monday Evenings at Michael Krop Senior High, Thursday evenings (advanced students only) at the Miami Shores Recreation Center, and Saturday afternoons and Friday night workshops at the Aventura Arts Academy, South Florida's newest and largest dance studio! These unique classes cover basic and advanced technique in Egyptian, Turkish, and Modern dance styles; contemporary as well as traditional.
Choreographies are always taught, students are prepared for stage performances. Most recently, Kira won the Oasis 2002 World Belly Dance Championship for the
soloist category. All contestants were chosen for their many contributions and their reputations in the field of belly dance!
*TEACHER DUO WORKSHOPS*
Learn the art of belly dance. Classes specializing in basic concepts, technique, hip articulation,
hand and arm coordination, zils as a purcussion instrument, dance combinations and complete
choreography. This unique class explores all styles of Middle Eastern dance; traditional as well
as comtemporary; folklore as well as cabaret. Classes also include technique in Interpretive, Gypsy
and Modern dance forms and how these disciplines relate to Middle Eastern dance.
This class is conducted on a continual basis, and is the only one that offers students an opportunity
to study with two (2) popular teachers with extensive backgrounds in dance.

Director and teacher Kahreen has spent many years
bringing the art of middle eastern dance to South Florida.When she started teaching classes
in 1975,the closest seminars and shows were in Pompano Beach.
Kahreen began to bring the best
dancers in the country to give seminars and perform in the Saturday night shows, thus giving
middle eastern dance enthusiasts the opportunity to learn from the best of the best.
Over the years , Kahreen has become known for quality shows, seminars , classes and video tapes.
The unique Las Vegas styled show has become a yearly event in the Miami area.
Continuing on in the tradition of excellence, Kahreen and Kira are pleased to announce the birth
of the Kismet Dance Foundation, Inc.!
